Global law firm White & Case LLP has strengthened its Nordic private equity and corporate capabilities with the additions of Jan Jensen and Shoan Panahi as partners in the Firm’s Stockholm office. Both Jensen and Panahi join White & Case’s Global Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Practice, with Jensen heading the Firm’s private equity practice for the Nordic region.
“The Nordic countries have some of the world’s most well-established corporates, and its private equity market is one of the most active in Europe,” said White & Case partner John Reiss, who heads the Firm’s Global M&A Practice. “Jan and Shoan will further enhance the Firm’s ability to advise Nordic private equity funds and corporates on their domestic and outbound transactions, and international buyout funds on their Nordic deals.”
Jensen, formerly a partner, chairman of the board and head of the Stockholm private equity practice at Hannes Snellman, has more than 20 years of experience in the Nordic private equity and M&A market, and has advised on many of the largest and most complex deals in the region. Jensen’s clients consist of leading Nordic and other European private equity firms and their portfolio companies, as well as Nordic and international corporates.
Panahi, who is also a former partner of Hannes Snellman, advises clients on private equity investments, M&A transactions and joint ventures in and out of the Nordic region. He has advised clients on deals in various industries, including the healthcare, cloud computing, manufacturing, retail, food and beverage, and technology sectors.
“An important part of our 2020 strategy is growing our Global M&A Practice and adding breadth and depth to our private equity offering in the Nordic region, the UK and Germany,” said White & Case partner Ian Bagshaw, co-head of the Firm’s Global Private Equity Industry Group. “The arrival of Jan and Shoan reinforces the Firm’s commitment to accomplish those goals.”
White & Case’s Darragh Byrne, Executive Partner of the Firm’s Stockholm office, said: “Our longstanding vision for the Stockholm office is to be the market leader for legal work in M&A, finance, disputes and capital markets in the Nordic region. The additions of Jan and Shoan will be a real driving force in achieving that vision by further increasing our profile with private equity firms, corporates and investment banks.”
