Dentons continues to strengthen its IP and Life Sciences offering for clients in Australia with the appointment of Managing Associate James Ellsmore. Formerly with King & Wood Mallesons LLP, James has ten years’ experience as an IP litigation lawyer with a focus on patents and life sciences. His practice also includes general commercial litigation, commercialisation and health/pharma regulatory advice.
James acts for a broad range of clients on IP and general commercial law, licensing disputes, comparative advertising and misleading and deceptive conduct, misuse of confidential information, copyright infringement and general contractual disputes. James also advises on the regulation of pharmaceuticals and medical devices in Australia, and has acted for clients in patent litigation in the High Court of Australia, Federal Court of Australia and before the Commissioner of Patents.
James has been recognised as a Next Generation lawyer for IP by the Legal500 Asia Pacific for 2018 and 2019, and was also listed this month in DOYLES’ list of Intellectual Property & TMT Rising Stars Australia, 2019.
