Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney continues to expand its Florida footprint with the additions of Mark Kornfeld, shareholder and Jordan Maglich, counsel to the firm’s Tampa office. Kornfeld and Maglich bring with them significant complex commercial litigation expertise, including asset recovery, securities, equity receiverships, and Ponzi schemes. Kornfeld serves as the current court-appointed federal equity receiver and Maglich as receiver’s counsel for the In Re Kinetics receivership. The pair join from the Tampa office of Quarles & Brady LLP.

Kornfeld is a skilled dispute resolution expert whose clients include financial services, investment bankers, hedge fund managers, media companies, emerging companies, construction and real estate developers, Fortune 500 and private equity companies, executives and board officers. Kornfeld was also one of the few attorneys in the world to interview Bernie Madoff in prison as part of the Trustee’s investigation. He received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and his B.A. from Vassar College.
Maglich has developed a comprehensive practice focused on financial services and securities litigation matters, including working with broker/dealers and their associated persons on litigation and regulatory matters, counseling individuals and entities dealing with regulatory investigations and enforcement actions, and representing receivers appointed at the request of state and federal regulators in matters involving allegations of investment fraud or wrongdoing. He regularly practices in arbitration forums and state, federal, and bankruptcy courts, and has extensive experience in fraud matters and wrongdoing involving financial malfeasance. Maglich received his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, M.B.A from the University of Miami School of Business and B.A. and B.S. from the University of Florida.
