Gordon & Rees opened its newest office in Tampa to serve clients’ needs in Northern and Central Florida. The Tampa office will complement the firm’s already existing Miami office to offer the highest quality legal services at affordable rates throughout the state of Florida. Tampa is the firm’s 32nd U.S. location since Gordon & Rees was founded nearly 40 years ago.
Long-time Partner Amy M. Darby -who celebrated 12 years with the firm on Sept. 23- will serve as the managing partner in Tampa. Ms. Darby formerly practiced in the firm’s Denver office before relocating to Tampa to be closer to family.
Gordon & Rees firmwide managing partner Dion N. Cominos noted that, “From a business perspective, the Tampa opening is a logical extension of our growth strategy to expand in the southeast and we are very fortunate to have Amy leading this effort. Her lawyering and administrative talents coupled with her ties to the area make her the ideal person to spearhead our expansion in Tampa.”

As a result of Tampa’s growth and revitalization, the firm’s services have been and continue to be in high demand there. The Tampa office will expand our reach in Florida and enhance our construction, commercial litigation, employment, health care and technology practices, which are key areas for our clients.”
Darby joined Gordon & Rees in 2002 and is licensed in Florida, Colorado and California. She says in the near term she plans to add several attorneys in the Tampa office, which will handle a variety of work for clients.
Gordon & Rees’s expansion across the country is part of its long-term plan to open offices in strategic locations of importance to clients. Over the past 10 years, Gordon & Rees has more than doubled in size, added 26 new offices, and has a major office in eight of the 10 largest cities in the United States. Tampa marks the second office Gordon & Rees has opened this year.
