International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company (Meiji Yasuda) on its 15% capital investment in Thailand based insurer Thai Life Insurance Public Company Limited (Thai Life).
Meiji Yasuda is one of Japan’s leading insurers and has an existing presence in Europe, North America and Asia. The investment in Thai Life significantly expands the company’s presence into the rapidly developing ASEAN region.
The Freshfields corporate team was led by partners Junzaburo Kiuchi and Ed Cole, both based in Tokyo.
