Simpson Thacher recently represented the international managers in connection with the initial public offering of Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, which included an international offering to institutional investors pursuant to Rule 144A and Regulation S. The ¥663 billion (approximately $8.5 billion) IPO was the second largest initial public offering globally to date this year.
Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. is one of the world’s major international airlines and one of two major carriers based in Japan, offering passenger air transportation and cargo services both in Japan and internationally.
Daiwa Securities Co., Ltd. served as the global coordinator for the domestic and international offerings. Joint lead managers and joint bookrunners for the international offering were Daiwa Capital Markets Europe, BofA Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley.
