Dentons is pleased to announce that Katarzyna Sliwa has rejoined the Firm as a partner in our Real Estate group. A graduate of the University of Western Ontario Law School, Katarzyna was called to the Ontario Bar in 2005, and then practiced municipal and land use planning law as an associate at Dentons from 2006 to 2008.
Based in our Toronto office, Katarzyna assists landowners in weaving through the approvals process for development and redevelopment projects, and resolving complex land use issues throughout Ontario. She frequently appears before the Ontario Municipal Board, as well as municipal councils and committees.
Katarzyna has acted for development companies, landowner groups, institutions, commercial and retail establishments, restaurants, hotels, builders and homeowners on official plan, zoning, subdivision, severance, variance and site plan matters. She has also acted as project manager on larger development projects.
“Katarzyna is an important addition to the Firm, and will be taking a leadership role in managing and growing the Toronto municipal and land use planning practice,” says Mike Kaplan, managing partner of Dentons’ Toronto office. “She is very well known and respected by our Real Estate team, and we are thrilled that she has decided to resume her law practice at Dentons.”
With more than 10 years of practice, Katarzyna has developed an excellent reputation and is highly regarded in the municipal and land use planning community. Her accomplishments have been recognized with the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) Leadership Award.
