Christian B. Nagel Joins Holland & Knight’s Government Contracts and Enforcement Defense Group

Holland & Knight has added Government Contracts Attorney Christian B. Nagel as a partner in its Tysons, Va., office. Mr. Nagel previously led the government contracts litigation team at an international law firm in Tysons and Washington, D.C.

Mr. Nagel advises businesses on a broad range of legal issues involving their relationship with the government. He represents clients in bid protests, claims, suspension/debarment, False Claims Act matters and disputes between contractors. He also regularly guides corporations through compliance issues, including internal investigations and employee training. He currently serves as a vice chair of the American Bar Association’s Bid Protest Committee.

“Chris is an exceptional government contracts lawyer who is highly regarded for his intellect, experience and commitment to his clients,” said John Brownlee, the leader of Holland & Knight’s Northern Virginia Litigation Practice Group and the firm’s National White Collar Defense and Investigations Team. “Chris joins an outstanding group of attorneys who are dedicated to serving and helping government contractors throughout the United States.”

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Nagel served with distinction as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, both on active duty and in the reserves. While on active duty, he deployed to Afghanistan where he adjudicated claims against NATO and the U.S. government. He also served as a special assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, as the officer in charge of the Quantico Legal Assistance Office, and as a military prosecutor. Prior to his service in the Marine Corps, Mr. Nagel worked on the staff of a member of Congress and as a writer at the White House.

“We are delighted that Chris has joined us,” said David Black, who, with Robert Tompkins, co-chairs Holland & Knight’s Government Contracts Group. “He will further strengthen our team and our presence as a leader in this area of the law.”

“Holland & Knight has one of the top government contracts practices in the country,” said Mr. Nagel. “I look forward to working with my new colleagues to further expand the firm’s relationship with government contractors in the Northern Virginia and D.C. markets.”

Mr. Nagel received a J.D. degree from William & Mary Law School and a B.A. degree from Miami University.
