Winston & Strawn is pleased to announce the addition of three highly accomplished health care partners in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office: T. Reed Stephens, Amandeep (“Aman”) Sidhu and Winston S. Kirton. The attorneys will bolster the firm’s Health Care practice by solidifying Winston’s robust experience in investigative, regulatory and litigation in health care and life sciences matters. Stephens and Sidhu join the firm from McDermott Will & Emery, while Kirton joins from Bristol-Myers Squibb.

Health Care and Life Sciences Industry Group Co-Chairs Ari Markenson and David Dahlquist said, “We are excited to welcome Reed, Aman and Winston to the team. Their experience will significantly enhance our health care offerings firm-wide, and provide additional, complementary services to our clients, including government investigations and litigation for health care and life sciences clients, FDA regulatory advisory work in the global supply chain and manufacturing area, and post-M&A due diligence in the FCPA area.”

David Rogers, Winston’s Washington, D.C. Managing Partner added, “I have had the pleasure of working with Reed and Aman on previous matters, and Winston Kirton is well-known for his excellent work in the biopharmaceutical industry. They are an excellent fit in our D.C. office, as we continue to support our clients’ growing needs, particularly in the areas of government and internal investigations and corporate compliance.”

Reed Stephens, a former trial attorney in the Civil Fraud Section of the U.S. Department of Justice, has for the past 17 years worked primarily with life science entities, health systems and non-health care global entities on a number of high-profile cases brought under the federal False Claims Act and corporate compliance matters. He advises clients on enterprise risk management matters involving health care fraud and abuse, congressional investigations, foreign anti-corruption laws, mergers and acquisitions and public policy, as well as regulatory compliance affairs involving import/export controls. “Winston’s talent and resources in commercial litigation and white collar defense, and their experience in the health care and life sciences space is unique, and will be a real asset for my clients.” Reed joins from McDermott Will & Emery’s Washington, D.C. office where he was most recently the Partner-in-Charge of the office’s 30-attorney Health Care Advisory Practice Group.

Aman Sidhu is a litigator with more than 13 years of experience representing clients in high-stakes disputes, including government investigations and qui tam whistleblower litigation, as well as national and international risk management concerns, including FCPA compliance. His clients include health systems, specialized and innovative physician practice groups, and pharmaceutical/biologics manufacturers, as well as several non-health care clients. “I was drawn to Winston for the opportunity to work with an incredible group of lawyers in the health care and life sciences space, and by the firm’s reputation as a second-to-none litigation powerhouse.” Previously, Aman worked in the litigation practice group in McDermott Will & Emery’s Washington, D.C. office, following a judicial clerkship.

Winston S. Kirton joins the firm from Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he served as the executive legal counsel and business advisor on the Global Manufacturing Operations Leadership Team and the Global Supply Chain Leadership Team. He was previously the head of compliance and ethics of one of Bristol-Myers Squibb’s international business units operating out of London. Throughout his nearly 30-year career in the biopharmaceutical industry, Winston has held positions in quality and compliance, regulatory affairs, compliance and ethics, and legal affairs at several multinational biopharmaceutical companies, including Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer Inc. and Bayer Corporation, among others. “From my in-house experience, I understand the importance of end-to-end capabilities for companies in the health care and life sciences industries. Through Winston’s global platform I can provide my clients with a customizable range of services, from regulatory and compliance support to internal and government investigations guidance, while also connecting them with the firm’s expertise in global transactions and international trade.”

Abbe Lowell, Co-Chair of the Firm’s White Collar Practice Group, added, “Our newest colleagues demonstrate again the depth of practice, substantive expertise and experience of our white collar attorneys who serve clients around the world.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Reed, Aman and Winston to the firm,” said Tom Fitzgerald, Chairman of Winston & Strawn. “Not only do they bring impressive experience in the health care and life sciences sector, they will also contribute to our white collar and congressional investigation offerings for clients in other highly regulated industries.”
