Cozen O’Connor has hired public and project finance attorney Patti Grant-Wilkinson into the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. She was previously senior vice president at Jefferies LLC, a global investment banking firm.
Throughout her career, Grant-Wilkinson has handled deals for issuers including the state of Connecticut, the District of Columbia and Miami-Dade County, to name a few. She also managed more than $10 billion in transactions during her tenure at Jefferies.
Additionally, she has served as bond counsel for states, cities and other municipal issuers. She also has acted as underwriter’s counsel, disclosure counsel and developer’s counsel, working on more than 600 transactions over the course of her career.
“Patti’s long and impressive career history in municipal finance makes her a huge asset for our clients, as well as our Public & Project Finance practice,” says Suzanne S. Mayes, chair of the Public & Project Finance practice at Cozen O’Connor.
Grant-Wilkinson is credited for founding law firm Bryant Miller Olive’s (BMO) Washington, D.C. office 10 years ago. As managing shareholder of that office, she grew its municipal finance group into a thriving practice. As a direct result of her work, BMO was recognized in 2012 as one of the top bond and underwriter’s counsel firms in Washington, D.C. Prior to that, Grant-Wilkinson worked in several other large law firms’ municipal finance groups. She has also served as trustee on the Federal City Council in Washington, D.C. and vice chairperson of the board of Sara’s Circle, a Washington, D.C.-based organization that provides affordable resources to the poor and elderly.
“We’re excited to continue to grow our presence in Washington, D.C. by welcoming Patti to the firm,” said Barry Boss, office managing partner of Cozen O’Connor’s Washington, D.C., office. “Her public finance experience, both as an investment banker and bond attorney, will add to our client offerings here in the District.”
Grant-Wilkinson joins Cozen O’Connor’s Washington, D.C. office on the heels of René Quashie, a member of the Health Care Practice, who began last month. Over the past several years, Cozen O’Connor’s Washington, D.C. office has been expanding its practice offerings and adding to its deep bench. Home to 60 lawyers and government relations professionals, with Patti’s arrival, the office can now service its clients’ public finance needs as well. To accommodate this rapid growth the firm moved in 2015 to a new space, located at 1200 19th St., NW.
Grant-Wilkinson received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University.
