Eversheds Sutherland Welcomes Corporate Partner Joshua Shapiro

Eversheds Sutherland is pleased to announce that Joshua L. Shapiro has joined as partner in the firm’s Corporate Practice Group in Washington DC. Mr. Shapiro’s practice is focused on counseling clients through the regulatory review of mergers and acquisitions, from deal inception and risk assessment to clearance by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Department of Justice (DOJ). Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Mr. Shapiro was a partner in the Antitrust, Competition & Distribution practice group at Thompson Hine.

Mr. Shapiro’s antitrust practice is focused on counseling clients undergoing merger review by the FTC and DOJ. He also provides strategic advice and counseling to clients on critical competition questions, and has extensive antitrust litigation experience. Additionally, he regularly provides clients with training and guidance on antitrust compliance issues. Mr. Shapiro’s experience spans several industries including energy, food and beverage, financial products, insurance, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, technology, software, automotive, and airlines.

Shapiro currently serves as Vice Chair of the US Comments and Policy Committee of the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association. He earned his law degree from Emory University School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Amherst College.
