Polsinelli is pleased to welcome Tyree P. Jones Jr. in Washington, D.C. as a shareholder in the firm’s Employment Litigation Practice. An accomplished trial lawyer and business advisor with more than three decades of success handling complex employment-related disputes, Jones also served as the chair of an Am Law 40 firm’s global labor and employment practice. Jones arrives at the firm from Reed Smith in DC.
He has won jury trials involving the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the False Claims Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and their state and local law counterparts with a particular focus on California. Jones’ practice also addresses employee mobility issues where he has successfully litigated restrictive covenant matters prosecuting and defending claims of misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition. His national practice spans an array of industries including transportation, financial services, health care and defense contracting. Throughout his career, Jones has consistently focused on furthering his clients’ business objectives and worked to promote the elevation of minority and LBGTQ+ lawyers in the legal profession.

Jones guides clients through intricate equitable rights disputes in addition to employment discrimination claims, addressing issues such as predatory and fair lending, challenges to DEI initiatives, disability rights and accessibility issues as well as equal pay concerns. He has also successfully defended employers in employment class actions and related litigation brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the California Civil Rights Department. Additionally, he negotiates executive compensation agreements and conducts due diligence on labor and employment matters related to corporate transactions.
Having served on numerous boards, Jones has extensive experience advising clients on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues, helping them navigate challenges related to racial justice, DEI initiatives and the impacts of the global pandemic. His focus includes effectively managing human capital, promoting diversity, equity and inclusion and developing credible metrics for measuring the impact of client efforts in these areas.
Jones received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from Bowdoin College.
