DLA Piper announced today that J.A. Glaccum has joined the firm’s Corporate practice as a partner in Washington, DC. Glaccum joins from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
Glaccum focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate finance, securities law and general corporate matters. He has represented acquirers, targets, investment banks, private equity funds and special committees in a number of significant transactions, including public and private acquisitions and divestitures, spin-offs, Reverse Morris Trust transactions, proxy contests, joint ventures and strategic alliances, and other transactional matters. He also has represented clients in public and private capital market transactions, including debt and equity offerings, private equity investments and fund formations.
Glaccum has significant experience in the energy sector, where he has represented electric utilities, diversified energy companies, independent power producers, and infrastructure funds and investors.

Glaccum received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from Virginia Military Institute. Prior to attending law school, Glaccum was a field artillery officer in the United States Army, where he served in the Republic of Korea and with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
