John Beahn joins DLA Piper’s rapidly growing Telecom practice in Washington, DC

DLA Piper announced today that John Beahn has joined the firm’s Telecom practice as a partner in the Washington, DC, office. The Telecom practice is part of DLA Piper’s global Intellectual Property and Technology practice. Beahn joins DLA Piper from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.

Beahn represents companies in regulatory and transactional matters involving a broad range of legal issues affecting wireline and wireless service providers, media and content providers, telecommunications equipment manufacturers and information technology providers. John has extensive experience in satellite and transponder deals. He also represents telecommunications and information technology clients in global telecom matters as well as US national security reviews before CFIUS and other related bodies.

Beahn is the latest addition to the firm’s growing Telecom practice, which over the past year has added partner Edward “Smitty” Smith; engineering advisor Ira Keltz; attorney Gary Michel; and associates Dana Zelman, Ian Forbes and Sean Robinson.

Beahn received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law and his B.S. from Boston College.
