Linklaters today announces that market-leading white-collar crime and civil litigator, Adam Lurie, has been elected as a partner in its U.S. Dispute Resolution practice. He will head the firm’s Washington, D.C. Litigation and Government Investigations practice.
An accomplished trial lawyer, Adam serves as lead counsel for clients in their most important matters. He has particular expertise in cross-border and other matters involving considerable reputational, financial and regulatory risks. Adam joins Linklaters from Cadwalader where he was most recently a partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice in Washington, D.C. Prior to this, Adam was Senior Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General, Criminal Division at the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Assistant United States Attorney in Newark, New Jersey, where he was appointed by former U.S. Attorney and current New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to the New Jersey Office’s elite securities and health care fraud and political corruption units.
Scott Bowie, head of Linklaters’ global U.S. practice, said:
“As U.S. law in the context of increasingly complex regulatory regimes is progressively shaping and governing cross-border transactions and disputes, building a strong and global U.S. platform is integral to our strategy. Adam’s hire is a key development in progressing Linklaters’ global ambitions to strengthen further our government risk, FCPA and civil litigation offering. This offering is one in a series of expansions most recently evidenced by the hires of Doug Tween to the firm’s U.S. Cartel and Government Investigations practice in New York and Tom Cassels to the Dispute Resolution practice in London.”
Michael Bennett, head of Linklaters’ global Dispute Resolution practice, said:
“Our clients have increasingly been experiencing the impact of the complex and evolving regulatory regime created by the reach of FCPA and other regulations. We are delighted to have Adam join our Dispute Resolution practice as, in addition to his impressive litigation credentials, he further enhances our U.S. regulatory, white collar crime and FCPA capabilities for our clients in the U.S. and globally.”
