Reed Smith announced today that Lisa Ledbetter has joined the firm as a partner in its Financial Industry Group in Washington D.C. Ledbetter is a preeminent bank regulatory lawyer who brings to Reed Smith a world-class practice advising domestic and international clients in navigating complex and novel regulatory, transactional, and enforcement challenges. Over her distinguished career, Ledbetter also has significant in-house experience as deputy general counsel of a Fortune 50 company, and substantial experience working within government agencies and banking industry trade associations. Ledbetter joins Reed Smith from Jones Day, where she led significant global initiatives in financial regulation, anti-money laundering, and financial technology.
Ledbetter specializes in advising on commercial and retail bank regulation and financial technology innovations. She counsels financial institutions and other companies on development of products and services and compliance issues. On the enforcement side, Ledbetter advises clients on responding to civil investigative demands, conducting internal investigations, and defending agency enforcement actions.
