New Partner Joins BCLP’s Banking Practice in Washington, D.C., Office

The global law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (BCLP) today announced that Benjamin Saul has joined the firm as a partner in the Banking Practice. Saul will reside in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office and was formerly a partner at White & Case.

Saul maintains a highly regarded global banking, fintech and consumer financial services practice. Along with financial institutions of all sizes, Saul represents fintech, payments, regtech, broker-dealer, exchange, specialty finance, and consumer financial services companies in connection with a full spectrum of regulatory and corporate matters. His practice extends to regulatory examinations, investigations, enforcement actions and administrative proceedings, internal investigations, as well as other litigation matters related to fintech and consumer financial products and services. He also represents directors, officers and investors in a variety of complex regulatory, enforcement, litigation and transactional matters.

Saul’s extensive experience in financial services and banking enforcement complements BCLP’s strong global financial services regulatory practice. Saul has represented clients in supervisory, enforcement and litigation matters involving the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He also regularly handles matters involving FTC, DOJ, FDIC, FRB, OCC and FinCEN as well as those involving state financial services authorities and state attorneys general.

In the rapidly evolving fintech and payments areas, Saul has experience in matters involving AI applications, mobile and digital banking, new payments technologies, online lending and distributed ledger technology, including blockchain technology, as well as cryptocurrencies. His fintech work has included clients from startups to established technology companies and financial institutions and is often cross-border in nature. He also has advised financial institutions in their efforts to bring emerging fintech products and technologies to market.
