Holland & Knight has strengthened its national Intellectual Property Group with a team of three partners from Perkins Coie who have particular experience with the International Trade Commission (ITC) and U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) post-grant review proceedings. James “Jim” Coughlan and Terrence “Terry” Wikberg have joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, and Amy Simpson has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office. Ms. Simpson was formerly co-chair of her previous firm’s Post-Grant Proceedings practice for over a decade, and Mr. Coughlan was the co-chair of his previous firm’s ITC Litigation Group for 14 years prior to joining Holland & Knight.

Reed Smith Adds Partner-Counsel Duo to Life Sciences Health Industry Practice
Reed Smith today announced that Brian Bewley is joining the firm as a partner and Kaitlyn Dunn as counsel in its Life Sciences Health Industry Group. Formerly with Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, the duo served previously in the Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (HHS OIG). Ken Cestari, the former deputy chief counsel of the Loan Programs Office (LPO) of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), has joined Holland & Knight’s Public Policy & Regulation Group as a partner. Mr. Cestari helped lead the legal department of the LPO from 2015 to 2022 and worked as an attorney in the department beginning in 2009.
