Mr. Fleishman advises clients on the energy regulatory and compliance aspects of transactions and other energy market activities. Mr. Fleishman has extensive experience in the energy regulatory field. He began his career at FERC, where he served in various capacities, including in the Division of Enforcement. He served at Constellation Energy Group and Baltimore Gas & Electric Co., for over 17 years in numerous capacities, including as general counsel and vice president for corporate affairs.
“Bob is one of the preeminent energy regulatory lawyers in the U.S.,” said Andrew Calder, a partner in Kirkland’s Houston office and a member of the Firm’s Global Management Executive Committee. “Kirkland is pleased he has agreed to join us to build and lead a top-notch energy regulatory practice to support the firm’s large and growing energy & infrastructure practice.”
Mr. Fleishman holds a law degree from the Boston University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University. He has been recognized by numerous publications, including Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, Legal 500 U.S. and The National Law Journal. Bob was honored by the Energy Bar Association with the Paul E. Nordstrom Service Award, and also received the Center for the Advancement of Energy Markets Service Award.
Mr. Fleishman’s appointment follows several recent hires focused on infrastructure finance.
