Van Ness Feldman Welcomes Mona Tandon as Partner

Van Ness Feldman is pleased to announce that Mona Tandon has rejoined the Firm as a partner.

Ms. Tandon advises clients that own and operate crude oil and products pipelines, natural gas pipelines, and electric utilities on federal and state regulatory matters, transactional issues, general corporate matters, and legislative issues. She also represents clients in federal and state administrative litigation, and counsels energy companies on compliance with federal and state requirements, including corporate governance, infrastructure security, and risk management. She also assists clients with issues regarding project development and acquisitions. Ms. Tandon is an active participant in the firm’s pro bono practice and a member of the diversity committee.

In announcing Ms. Tandon’s return, Susan Olenchuk, Partner and Practice Coordinator of Van Ness Feldman’s Pipeline and LNG Practice and Pipeline Safety Practice, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Mona back to Van Ness Feldman. Prior to returning to Van Ness Feldman, where she practiced for the first 10 years of her career, Ms. Tandon served as Senior Legal Counsel to TransCanada where she managed U.S. federal and state regulatory issues and governmental affairs for the company’s oil and natural gas pipeline business and Western power business. She advised the company on strategic and regulatory compliance matters, including those related to rates, capacity access, open seasons, tariffs, terms of service, transportation agreements, and commercial arrangements. Ms. Tandon’s work also included advising clients regarding cross-border issues, focusing on efficient and effective management. A significant portion of her project work with TransCanada concerned infrastructure projects in the State of Alaska. In addition to her work with pipelines and the power business, Ms. Tandon managed global customs issues for the company.

Ms. Tandon received a J.D. from University of Texas School of Law in 2002, and a B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1998. She holds a Global Executive MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and the ESADE Business School.
