The law firm Miles & Stockbridge today announced that highly-regarded health care lawyers Robert Zinkham, Lisa C. Keenan and Molly E. G. Ferraioli have joined the firm’s expanding health care practice. All were most recently with the health care group at Venable LLP.
As members of the Corporate & Securities Practice Group at Miles & Stockbridge, the three will work closely with others in the firm’s health care practice, especially Peter P. Parvis, a principal in the Towson office and their former colleague from his time as a partner at Venable. Zinkham joins as a principal, and Kennan and Ferraioli join as counsel. They will reside in the Baltimore office.
“The skill sets of Rob, Lisa and Molly complement our own and will deepen our ability to assist clients in navigating the ever-changing corporate and regulatory health care environment,” said John B. Frisch, chairman and CEO of Miles & Stockbridge. “Their contributions will strengthen our services to health care clients, from providing representation before federal and state regulatory and investigative entities, to handling health care transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions.”
Formerly the head of Venable’s health care practice, Zinkham has focused exclusively on practicing health care law for more than 25 years. He develops and organizes business relationships between hospitals and physicians, representing both large hospital systems and physician groups. He has extensive regulatory experience with federal and state government investigations of health care entities. Zinkham was previously the partner-in-charge of Venable’s Business Division.
“We’re pleased to be at Miles & Stockbridge and to rejoin our colleague Pete Parvis,” Zinkham said. “The breadth and depth of our combined reach will benefit the health care practitioners and entities we serve.”
Keenan provides clients with legal advice in areas that include negotiation of strategic alliances and partnerships, private investment, physician recruitment and practice acquisition, corporate practice of medicine, material transfer and research agreements, executive compensation, Medicare billing and reimbursement, health care compliance and corporate governance. Previously counsel at Venable, she also has several years of experience as in-house counsel to Marriott International and BioMarker Strategies, an emerging life sciences company.
Ferraioli focuses her practice on federal and state regulatory and compliance issues, including regarding fraud and abuse laws; reimbursement issues; the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and state privacy laws; and health care licensure, certification and accreditation. She previously worked as an associate at Venable.
