Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP today announced that Marvin (Chip) C. Lunde, III has joined the Firm as a partner in the Asset Management Group in Washington. Mr. Lunde advises insurance companies, investment companies, investment company boards, investment advisers and broker-dealers on federal and state securities and insurance compliance and regulatory matters. Mr. Lunde was previously a shareholder at Carlton Fields, where he served as co-chair of the firm’s Securities and Investment Companies Industry Group.

Mr. Lunde focuses his practice on securities and insurance regulations governing the development, registration, distribution, and marketing of insurance, annuity, mutual fund, and other financial products. He regularly counsels issuers on the creation of novel financial products and the status of insurance products as securities. He also advises financial services clients regarding the development and regulation of other pooled investment vehicles, counsels investment company boards, advises on contracts between financial product issuers and their service providers, and advises mutual funds on credit agreements and derivatives regulatory matters. Additionally, Mr. Lunde advises financial services clients on issues pertaining to the sales practices, market conduct, and other compliance issues affecting issuers and distributors of financial products.

He is a regular speaker at insurance industry conferences, including the ALI CLE Conference on Life Insurance Company Products and the IRI ACTION18 Conference.
