Top 100 U.S. law firm Akerman LLP has grown its significant bench strength in the financial services industry with partner Donald Pocock who joins the Litigation Practice Group in Winston Salem. He also bolsters the firm’s litigation experience in the construction industry. Pocock arrives at Akerman from Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP.
Pocock follows a wave of lawyers joining the Winston-Salem office. The team has doubled in size in the last year, most recently welcoming corporate partners Steven “Will” Walker and Michael Fulks, real estate partners Andrew Felts and Kelly Otis, and real estate associate Hannah Mashburn.

Pocock focuses his practice on business litigation, construction law, creditor’s rights and insolvency litigation, and consumer financial services litigation. Pocock represents clients in all phases of litigation including pleadings, discovery, document production, depositions, mediations, motions, briefs, and trial. He has appellate experience, including conducting oral arguments before North Carolina Court of Appeals, Supreme Court of North Carolina, and Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has also appeared in arbitrations before American Arbitration Association, National Arbitration Forum, JAMS, and The Arbitration Forum.
