Top 100 U.S. law firm Akerman LLP is pleased to announce that it has expanded its Real Estate Practice Group with partner Andrew “Drew” Felts in Winston-Salem. Felts focuses his practice on commercial real estate and renewable energy transactions. Felts comes to the firm from Blanco Tackabery & Matamoros, P.A. in Winston-Salem.

Felts focuses his practice on commercial real estate transactions. He has extensive experience representing buyers, sellers, developers, investors, landlords, tenants, and lenders in all facets of complex commercial real estate deals and financing throughout the Southeast and other parts of the country.
Felts also has substantial experience working with renewable energy developers to negotiate and draft site control agreements and handle due diligence review for utility-scale solar energy projects across the country. Felts frequently speaks at conferences on the topics of renewable energy landowner, debt and tax equity party relations, and implementing strategic solutions to accomplish complex closings.
Felts is licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia. He regularly serves as local counsel on both commercial real estate and renewable energy transactions.
